Filip Clinckspoor is iemand die reeds op jonge leeftijd met kunst in aanraking kwam. Via zijn vader, een grafisch tekenaar, fotograaf en kunstliefhebber, was zijn jeugd gekleurd door vele vormen van creativiteit. De creatieve passie kreeg vorm door verschillende kunstrichtingen aan de Academie voor Beeldende Kunst te Aalst. Daar ontstond de voedingsbodem voor zijn creaties zowel vroeger als nu.

Zijn huidige vormgeving en stijl is een kruisbestuiving van structuur en materie met elementen uit de Bauhaus stroming. In zijn werken gaat hij op een speelse maar ook soms op een confronterende manier, om met deze elementen en verwerk hij ze in verschillende van zijn werken. In zowel sculpturen als schilderijen op karton en paneel, speelt er zich een zichtbare spanning af.

Door zijn levensloop, wil hij de dialoog en confrontatie aangaan met zichzelf en zijn omgeving. Zo wil hij uiting geven aan passie, liefde, haat, tragedie en melancholie. Dit is misschien een doorlopend verwerkingsproces als een soort van rode draad doorheen zijn leven.

De ruwheid van structuurverf en materie in dialoog met strakke vormgeving, vinden hun oorsprong bij een aantal bekende kunstenaars uit de kunstgeschiedenis. Anselm Kiefer en George Vantongerloo zijn er enkelen van.

Filip Clinckspoor is someone who came into contact with art at an early age. Through his father, a graphic artist, photographer and art lover, his childhood was colored by many forms of creativity. The creative passion was shaped by various art directions at the Academy for Visual Arts in Aalst. This is where the breeding ground for his creations arose, both in the past and now.
His current design and style is a cross-fertilization of structure and material with elements from the Bauhaus movement. In his works he deals with these elements in a playful but sometimes confrontational way and incorporates them in several of his works. In both sculptures and paintings on cardboard and panel, there is a visible tension.
Through his life course, he wants to enter into dialogue and confrontation with himself and his environment. In this way he wants to express passion, love, hate, tragedy and melancholy. This may be an ongoing process of processing as a kind of thread through his life.
The roughness of textured paint and material in dialogue with austere design originate from a number of well-known artists from art history. Anselm Kiefer and George Vantongerloo are some of them
